Este libro ha sido mi primer acercamiento a Grady Hendrix y tengo que decir que no ha sido el libro más adecuado con el que descubrir al autor, porque odio las historias cuyo eje central es el proceso de duelo después de una pérdida.
Dejando eso de lado, el libro me ha sorprendido: los personajes son muy reales (y realistas), el trauma familiar (y cómo romper esos patrones) está muy bien tratado y en general el autor sabe jugar muy bien con la psicología de los personajes y el ir contándote las cosas a cuentagotas para que todo encaje de forma satisfactoria. Destaco también la narración, ágil pero no simplona, y lo bien diferenciadas que están las voces del narrador al cambiar de punto de vista.
En cuanto al terror, me parece algo básico (en el sentido amplio y no peyorativo de la palabra), pero funciona: marionetas maléficas. Hay un poquito de violencia explícita desagradable, mucho autoengaño y algo de drama de fondo, los ingredientes básicos de este tipo de libros, y si bien a ratos era algo previsible eso no hace que se disfrute menos.
En general, bien; seguiré leyendo otros libros del autor seguro.

⭐ No te lo recomiendo: si te dan miedo las muñecas o llevas mal las historias que giran en torno al duelo.
